1. Who we are & acceptance

Really Fast Scribe (“Really Fast Scribe”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website reallyfastscribe.comand the related transcription service (the “Service”). The Service is operated by an individual based in Poland. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.

3. Accounts

• You can use a limited preview without an account. To save transcripts and access full features you must create an account, which we provide via Google sign-in (through our authentication provider).
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email/Google account secure.
• You must provide accurate information and not impersonate others.

4. The Service

Really Fast Scribe lets you upload audio or video files and converts them into text, with features such as speaker separation, timestamps and optional translation. Transcription is performed using automated speech recognition, including third-party AI processing providers (currently AssemblyAI), to which your audio is transmitted for the sole purpose of producing your transcript.

We offer a free tier (a limited number of transcription minutes per month) and a paid Pro subscription with higher or removed limits.

5. Your content & ownership

• You own the files you upload and the transcripts generated from them (“User Content”). We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
• You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process and transmit your User Content only as needed to provide the Service (including sending audio to our AI processing providers). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to routine backups and legal retention.
• We do not sell your User Content and do not use it to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to deliver your transcript.

6. Lawful recording & your warranties

You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You represent and warrant that:

• you have all rights and permissions necessary to upload, store and transcribe the audio/video, including, where required by law, the consent of all recorded individuals;
• your use complies with all applicable recording, wiretapping, privacy and data-protection laws;
• your content does not infringe anyone’s rights and is not unlawful.

You — not Really Fast Scribe — are responsible for ensuring your recordings are lawful.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

• upload content you have no right to, or that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or obtained through unlawful surveillance;
• process content involving others’ personal data without a lawful basis;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
• resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.

8. Accuracy disclaimer

Transcripts are produced by automated AI and may contain errors, omissions or mis-attributions. They are provided for convenience and are not certified or guaranteed to be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing transcripts before relying on them, especially for legal, medical, financial or other important uses.

9. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

• The Pro plan is a recurring subscription (currently $24/month) billed through our payment provider. It renews automatically each period until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
• Payments are non-refundable — we do not refund the current or past billing periods, but you keep Pro access until the period ends.
• We may change prices or plan limits; we will give reasonable notice, and changes apply from your next billing period.
• Free-tier limits (e.g. a monthly transcription-minutes cap) may change over time.

10. Intellectual property

The Service itself — including our name, logo, trademarks, visual design, text and software — is the exclusive property of Really Fast Scribe and protected by law. You may not copy, use or imitate our branding without our written permission. This does not affect your ownership of your own User Content (Section 5).

11. Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions, we may use and implement them freely, without any compensation or credit to you, and without obligation to act on them.

12. Promotions

From time to time we may run promotions, contests or sweepstakes. These may have their own additional rules, which will be made available with the relevant promotion and prevail in case of conflict with these Terms.

13. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, authentication, AI transcription, payment processing, and analytics). Your use may be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

14. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, liability) will survive.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcripts will be accurate.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Really Fast Scribe will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or others’ rights.

18. Consumer rights (EU)

If you use the Service as a consumer in the EU, you keep all mandatory rights under applicable consumer-protection law, which these Terms do not override. For paid digital services that begin immediately, you may be asked to acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the service starts.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Poland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
